- Blind line (pool): put a cone or kickboard on the deck at the far end. Swimmers swim 25 m with eyes closed and lift to sight every 4, 6 or 8 strokes. Mark where they touch the wall. Who finishes closest to the cone?
- Crocodile eyes: practise lifting only the eyes and goggles, then breathing to the side. Count how many strokes the look costs.
- Buoy triangle (open water): swim a set line to a buoy. A partner on shore counts sights and notes how straight the line looks.

- What the game models: head down, your direction drifts because of chop, a stronger arm or current, and you can't feel it. Only a sight shows the truth. Each sight slows you briefly, just like lifting the head.
- The skill: find a rhythm (e.g. every 6โ10 strokes), then sight more in chop and current. The trail you see when sighting shows your zig-zag.
- Current: aim slightly into the current (crab), not straight at the buoy. On Level 4 swimmers who aim straight at the buoy swim a banana-shaped line.
- Glare (Level 6): the buoy only shows up close. Swimmers must line up the landmark behind it. Ask them to pick a landmark before the start in real races.
- Stars: compared with a computer swimmer who sights at the best rhythm for that level and corrects perfectly. 3 stars = within 8%.
- The answer panel under the game shows the target time and best sighting rhythm for each level.
